In this knowledge base article, we will explain how to install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device to enable MFA for your O365 account.
Step 1: Download the Microsoft Authenticator App The first step in enabling MFA for your O365 account is to download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. Step 2: Add Your Account to the Microsoft Authenticator App
Once you have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, you will need to add your O365 account to the app. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Tap the Add Account button.
- Select Work or school account.
- Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code displayed on the screen, or manually enter the code provided.

Step 3: Enable MFA for Your O365 Account

- When prompted, select the option to set up multi-factor authentication.
- Follow the prompts to set up MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator app as your preferred method.
- Verify your account by entering the code provided by the Microsoft Authenticator app when prompted.
Once you have completed these steps, MFA will be enabled for your O365 account, and you will be required to provide an additional verification factor, such as a code from the Microsoft Authenticator app, when logging in to your account.
